A new updated for MegaBook has been released which fixes a few security issues. Also added was a Flood Locker which will prevent people from adding posts rapidly.

Don't worry. I haven't forgotten about all the problems that MegaBook has and all the users of it. I've been messing around in the codes again re-writing it as I go along.

Here's a list of some of the new features that will be included in version 3:

• Uses cookies for passwords - once logged in, won't need to again and again (fixes the menu bug too)
• Emoticons - Able to have little smiley faces in your text
• Templates - Will come with a few pre-created templates for your easy MegaBook setup
  (If you have some cool layouts, e-mail them to me)
• New Menu Interface - Looks a little more snazzy

If anyone else has any suggestions, make sure to post them in the forums.

Since I've announced MegaBook 3, I guess I should tell you that I am planning on releasing a few more CGI scripts and eventually will be released at Go-Mega.Net, along with MegaBook.

A support forum has been put up for anyone that needs help. There are a few other forums for discussion for new features, about Perl and CGI and also for just ranting and raving. So be sure to check them out by clicking on the "Forums" link to the left or by accessing it here.

Finally, the moment you've all been waiting for. Megabook 2.0 has been blasted into the internet waiting for you to download. Plastered with its many features, Megabook 2.0 will make your mouth water. Get the V1.1 to V2.0 Upgrade or the Full Install now! Read the readme file or head to the Download section for installation instructions.

Once again, Megabook leaves all the other guestbooks in the dust, giving you even more control, security and power then ever before. There are over 3000 Megabooks in use and the website has recieved over 23000 hits.

Ooooops! Looks like I made a little goof in the code! In 2.0, it will display any entries that were signed at 12 noon or 12 midnight as only 12AM. There is also an ICQ Flower bug that would try to show a flower if no ICQ data was entered which has also been fixed.

If you've downloaded Megabook before March 12, you'll need to get this little fix-it right here. Just re-upload this updated guestbook.cgi file and everything will work just fine.
